Leadership with passion

Heading up our team is Kieran Porter, our Operations Director. Kieran’s love for festivals and events has been a driving force in our success. In a recent interview, Kieran reminisced about his favourite festival moments – watch the interview here. His passion and enthusiasm sets the tone for our entire team.

Working alongside Kieran there is Charlotte Whitton, our General Manager. Charlotte leads the office festival and events team with remarkable skill and knowledge. She knows everything there is to know about festival staffing and is a great leader for our team. This season has been fantastic so far, thanks to the hardworking teams both in the office and onsite.

‘This season has been our best in terms of operations and how well everything has run. This is such a credit to our office and onsite teams and how well they work together! 

There is so much that goes into the planning for these events to enable us to have hundreds of staff out on just one weekend. And to then deliver this on-site and manage such large-scale events – I couldn’t be prouder of the teams we have! Their experience with these events has enabled us to have such a successful Summer.

This season has brought ever-changing requirements, as festival season always does! We have adapted and delivered and ensured we do the best job we can’ – Charlotte Whitton, General Manager. 

At the heart of the onsite festival team is Sally Barratt, a vital part of hap since the start. This year, Sally has taken on the role of Senior Operations Manager, bringing her extensive experience and unwavering commitment to our office team. Read all about Sally’s hap journey here.

‘I’m incredibly proud of the teams for going above & beyond all of my expectations during this season so far, & for their flexibility in meeting the different requirements of the bar operators we work with.

The onsite teams have been so committed. I’m grateful for all of the hard work and the energy they’ve put into looking after the hap staff.

A team that lives and breathes festivals

Our Onsite Staffing Team is not just experienced; they are festival enthusiasts who thrive in the vibrant, fast-paced environment of festivals. 

Our onsite festival team members, who have been with us for years, include:

Over the past 16 weeks, our team have worked at more than 250 festivals and events across the UK, Ireland, and even Austria. Their mission? To ensure the well-being of our temporary staff and the flawless execution of our bar operations. They have done just that.

As well as looking after our staff and making sure that the client is happy, our teams also extend their care to the festival site, ensuring that the staff campsite is spotless when our staff leave and that our on-site operations are environmentally friendly.

Collaboration 

The relationship between our office and onsite teams is the backbone of our success. Festivals are meticulously planned and staffed in the office, then executed flawlessly by the onsite team. This collaboration ensures that every event is a resounding success.

This year, we’ve taken a significant leap forward by enhancing our technology. Our new in-house system, which has now been rolled out onsite, improves reporting accuracy and provides clients with quick access to essential information.

Challenges and triumphs

Managing hundreds of temporary staff members at each festival is no small feat. Our onsite staffing team tackles immense responsibilities quickly and efficiently. They are experienced at facing and overcoming challenges, ensuring that every festival runs smoothly.
